Carpinteria Aerated Sludge Holding Tank Replacement
Carpinteria Aerated Sludge Holding Tank Replacement
The project involved replacement of two existing concrete digesters built in 1950 and 1960 with new concrete aerobic digesters and associated pumps, piping, valves, aeration blowers and related equipment. The work also included complete replacement of the District’s chemical disinfection facilities, inclusive of new storage tanks, containment systems, a chemical building, pumps, sophisticated controls and other integrated systems. Maintenance of plant operations was a critical aspect of this project. Cushman implemented temporary disinfection and a temporary aerobic digester that performed flawlessly throughout the project. For this project, Cushman received an award for the Santa Barbara County Contractor of the Year.
