Camino Pescadero Staircase

Camino Pescadero Staircase

Located south of Del Playa Drive intersecting Camino Pescadero, the County of Santa Barbara contracted Cushman to remove and replace the existing timber staircase that provides safe access for Isla Vista residents and visitors to the beach.

The new staircase includes four concrete landings supported by four 36” CIDH piles varying from 40 feet in length.  The landings are connected by a 285 square foot timber staircase with a stainless steel handrail.

The lower portion of work required Cushman’s expertise in dealing with frequent tide changes and marine sensitive environments.  Cushman has completed several beach access staircases throughout California and has become one of the leading contractors in this unique project category.
