CATER WATER TREATMENT PLANT: Improvements Project Location: SANTA BARBARA, CA Description of Job: Several important improvements were constructed as part of the $14 million dollar, 37 mgd Cater Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project. Major process improvements were made to the flash mix system; new flocculators and baffle system; newly engineered filter Underdrains; filter to waste system; new filter backwash pump station; new solids recovery basins; and extensive underground pipe lines were set in place. A new Operations Annex building was also constructed. The new Annex building houses the plants new chemical feed systems, stand by generator, electrical switchgear and distribution equipment. Site construction included new parking, roadways, irrigation and extensive landscaping. |
